The person who first invented the telephone was Alexander Graham Bell. He created the first telephone in the year of 1876.  He created this originally while working on ways to improve the telegraph.

The task that the telephone accomplishes is to transmit and receive sound data.  In other words, to allow communication between two phone lines.  Simple as that.

The telephone started out where the hearing device and the talking device were separate (like in the movie Aristocats!!) Then it moved to a dial phone, then to a full receiver wall plug-in, then to the cordless phone.  And let’s not forget the cellphone!! Probably the most useful invention ever!

The telephone has had a tremendous effect on our world.  Everyone pretty much owns a telephone, and everyone pretty much calls each other to communicate.  People barely send telegraphs anymore… think they got rid of those almost altogether…      People always are on their cellphones and phones talking.

1. In one of his speech / video ads, the target audience is middle class folk. There are a few ethnic people there, so I believe his intended audience is the middle class people of all races. I can tell this is for this certain audience because the audience is actually there, and no one is especially fancy, or raggedy, and some people ARE ethnic. The ads sort of subconsciously convey their message by saying “Look who is here, middle class folk. I appeal to all socio-economic demographics, not just the rich people.” They are somewhat effective because you don’t feel like you have to be rich to be considered by the candidate. It sort of reflects values of equality, like no demographic is favored more than the other. That is good because as it says in the Constitution, “all men are created equal.” Everyone in the room looks middle aged, ranging anywhere from mid-twenties to mid-fifties. Men and women are present, so it is directed towards both genders. I believe this ad is directed towards Nevada, so the regional demographic is for those in Nevada, but on a larger scale, the US. This ad is very neutral, which is good in a public ad so no descrimination is seen by its viewers.

2. In his main ad on his website, he is addressing the American people. He says to believe in yourself and what you can do. The target audience is everyone eligible to vote. This is because he wants people to see his views, and how he does care about the United States citizens. I know this because all candidates want to win, and he is trying to appeal to all of the Americans, no matter of race, sexual preference, income, or social status. Again, this applies to all socio-economic, gender, race, religion, regional area (the US), and age demographics. Neutrality is key in worldwide campaigning ads.

3. This ad is for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. This ad is directed towards the people of the Christian faith. It isn’t singling out any other demographic (all genders, races, socio-economic incomes, et cetera.) It conveys the message that Obama is open towards the Christian faith. Plain and simple.
